Velux is the largest manufacturer of skylights in the world but had market saturation because they were butting heads with everyone else on hardware features selling to existing dealers.
You looked through panels of skylights at the sky and as they opened, lights made the edges glow like sunrise - all this with nature music playing in the background. This showed the skylights as holes to allow the sky to come in.
The concept of skylights as openings onto the world brought the product to a whole new group of builders and architects. Sales increased 35%.
